Matthew 28:19-20

Until the 19th century, this text, together with 1 John 5:7, was used to prove the trinitarian formula. After the interpolation was discovered and removed, the text of Matthew 28:19-20 was left alone.

This is the only text of the christian scriptures that says otherwise about christian dipping. This text contradicts absolutely all other verses in which the dipping was ONLY in the name of Jesus the Anointed One.

At the moment, christians do not have the manuscript of Matthew earlier than the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, which would prove the interpolation into the original text.

However, we have 3 indirect arguments:

1. The Hebrew text of Matthew copied by the 14th-century Jewish physician Shem-Tob ben Isaac Ibn Shaprut.

«Go»
(Matthew 28:19)

2. The Roman historian Eusebius of Caesarea in his work “Church History” (“Ecclesiastical History”), written before 325 AD, refers to Matthew 28:19:

“had said to them, ‘Go and make disciples of all the nations [heathen] in my name’”
(book 3, chapter 5, paragraph 2 / page 987)

3. In addition, Eusebius in his work “Demonstratio evangelica” (“Proof of the gospel”), written also before 325 AD, refers to Matthew 28:19 thrice:

“Go, and make disciples of all nations in my name
(book 3, chapter 6, paragraph 132 / page 203, paragraph 136 / page 209)
(book 9, chapter 11, paragraph 445 / page 615)

Given these 3 indirect arguments, in biblical.page
Matthew 28:19-20 reads as follows:

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations in my name,
teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the end of the age”

Matthew 28:19-20

ponder…

Please read carefully Romans 6 and especially put your attention on next verses:

3 Or do you not know that all of us who were dipped into the Anointed Jesus were dipped into his death?

4 So we were buried with him through our dipping into his death, in order that just as the Anointed One was raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in a newness of life.

Ponder, can you replace Jesus with or add to Jesus: Jehovah God? holy spirit?

in the name of Jesus the Anointed One

“Repent, and let each one of you be dipped in the name of Jesus the Anointed One for forgiveness of your sins”

Acts 2:38 Acts 8:16

“they had […] been dipped in the name of the Lord Jesus

“he commanded them to be dipped in the name of Jesus the Anointed One”

Acts 10:48 Acts 19:5

“On hearing this, they got dipped in the name of the Lord Jesus

“And now why are you delaying? Rise, get dipped, and wash your sins away by your calling on his name [the Anointed Jesus]”

Acts 22:16 Galatians 3:27

“all of you who were dipped into the Anointed One have put on the Anointed One”

“all of us who were dipped into the Anointed Jesus were dipped into his death”

Romans 6:3 1 Corinthians 1:12-15

12 What I mean is this, that each one of you says: “I belong to Paul,” “But I to A·polʹlos,” “But I to Ceʹphas,” “But I to the Anointed One.”

13 Is the Anointed One divided? Paul was not executed on the stake for you, was he? Or were you dipped in the name of Paul?

14 I thank God that I dipped none of you except Crisʹpus and Gaʹius,

15 so that no one may say that you were dipped in my name.
